As the president and sole owner of Marconi Construction, Mr. Campailla is intimately involved in the manage-ment of every aspect of the business. And it is in this accessibility and “hands-on” involvement that the Marconi reputation of providing premium services, experience and relationships has been cemented.
From its inception through the 1990’s, Marconi focused on the construction of condominiums and office build-ings, including the well known condominiums at 700 Maple Avenue in Hartford CT and the Greca Building, an historic factory conversion into a thriving mixed-use complex of offices, retail space and a school on Franklin Avenue, the backbone of Hartford’s Hispanic District.
From 2000 through 2007, the company focused mainly on educational institutions throughout Connecticut. One project, exemplary of Marconi’s skill and dedication, was the construction of the 6,000 square foot annex for the M.D. Fox School in Hartford, which was successfully completed on an accelerated 45-day schedule so that it would be ready for use on the first day of school.
Marconi has also specialized in historic rehabilitation of multi-family residential buildings, financed with historic preservation tax credit programs and other public financing sources. Mr. Campailla has roots in Hartford County and is committed to and knowledgeable about its communities. He owns, through his partnership interests, an extensive real estate portfolio that includes many historic buildings and comprises approximately 400 apartments within the City.
Marconi is very proud of its relationships-with clients, with subcontractors, with vendors and with financing institutions, all of which enable them to deliver expertise in the construction industry and quality craftsmanship at a fair cost while taking “ownership” in each client’s project-in fact, it is Marconi’s ownership of its own extensive real estate portfolio that makes it sensitive to each client’s needs.
Marconi Construction’s mission is to provide services of the highest standards and meet and exceed client expec-tations, employing a laser focus attention to detail and craftsmanship, particularly in the demanding area of his-toric preservation.
Marconi’s total bonding capacity exceeds $20 million.
